Peak of lemming numbers allowed successful nesting of Snowy Owls, Pomarine Skuas and Rough-legged Buzzards. Wader arrival to the central part of delta was provoked by appearance of opened water and turned out to be premature: birds died in mass in the first half of June due to startvation and low temperatures. Arrival of non-numerous waders to the northern part of delta was delayed. Chicks in nests of Grey Plovers, Little Stints and Red Phalaropes successfully hatched, though 2 weeks later than usial. Other waders did not nest at the delta north in this season. Appearance of numerous flocks of juvenile Ruffs in autumn was unusial event for the northern part of delta (this was previously reported for New-Siberian Islands).
